Following are various hints on how to get the best out of this site.
Remember your input can only improve this site for the enjoyment of all.
CONTACT: If you click on the ‘contact’ link you can send an email to BOTH Jeff and Scott. Just type in your question, and click on ‘CONFIRM’.
NEWS: On the home page is the latest ‘Headline News’. The 'more news' below that will take you to more news archives which are updated as and when something newsworthy happens. If you have any news you wish to share, then send it in to us.
YOUR OWN PAGE: Click the 'house' icon below your login name and see your own personal part of this site. You can modify your own ‘profile’ or use the other links to check which images you have uploaded, list books for sale or list your favourite banknote related web links. These items will appear on the relevant page after you have uploaded them through this section.
Please note that in your profile if you mark the information as ‘open’ then other members can see it. If you wish to remain anonymous click ‘closed’. Note also that the open/closed button defaults to ‘open’ but if you have clicked ‘closed’ then it is closed.
GALLERY: Stick some images up in the Galleries. Show off your good notes. Just click the ‘upload image’ icon on the individual gallery pages and follow the prompts. Note that my images are at 800 pixels wide. The title, you give the image, will appear on the gallery page. Please make it a clear description of the banknote. Clicking on ‘thumbnail’ will give you the same page but with all images appearing as thumbnails. Click on the thumbnail to see full sized image.
You can also upload images via your ‘own’ pages ‘my gallery’ link.
Images of multiple banknotes in one scan in the gallery can end up being too small for members to appreciate the image, so keep this in mind when scanning your own contributions.
AUCTION / SALES: The auction page has a link to its terms and conditions. PLEASE read this.
Like the Forum you go back and add your images after you have uploaded the text part of your auction.
Each item for sale has its own unique item number which you can use for a quick search.
Forum:
POLL (voting): Any member can start a poll on the forum.
You just need a question and from 2-10 options to vote on.
You can only vote once (unless allow multiple votes is ticked by whoever starts the poll).
BOOKS: You can offer for sale books or magazines relating to banknotes on this page. Just click on 'sell a book' and follow the prompts.
LINKS: You can upload links to other Banknotes related websites to this section from you 'own' page. Please visit the sites listed. They all are of merit to our great hobby.
MEMBERS: This links you to a list of other members of the site. If their information is open, you can see their contact details and an email form is there if you wish to email them direct from the members page. Please do not abuse this contact information.
TIMELINE: This is the link to all the pages about the actual issues of New Zealand banknotes, issued by the Reserve Bank from 1934 to date. Similar in style to my book about the decimal issues, but with less detail. It will cover print runs, prefixes, replacement notes and major varieties etc. There will be images of each type and eventually we hope to have images of every prefix issued. Although to achieve this we will need you, the members, to supply good scans of some of the prefixes. This will be extremely useful with all the prefix varieties that appear in the pre-decimal series as we can hopefully spot them all.
